Thomas M. Villani, DMD
After earning his Bachelor of Science degree with honors from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Dr. Villani graduated from the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine with his doctorate in dental medicine in 1986. He then completed a two-year residency in general dentistry at the West Roxbury VA Hospital and Harvard Dental School in 1988. Dr. Villani has practiced dentistry with the Brighton Marine Health Center since 1988, and he established Brighton Family Dental Group, LLP in 1994.
An avid learner, Dr. Villani continues his education, pursuing the most recent developments in dental technology, materials, and procedures. He holds membership with the American Dental Association, as well as the Massachusetts Dental Society.
With a mission to provide excellent care to the families of Brighton and surrounding communities, Dr. Villani has brought together a team of dedicated dental professionals, including a periodontist, hygienists, assistants, and front office personnel who value the individual satisfaction of every patient.
Vanessa Thai, DMD
Dr. Vanessa Thai was born and raised in Massachusetts and has lived in Massachusetts her whole life. Dr. Thai’s love for endodontics led her to obtain an Endodontics certificate along with a Master of Medical Sciences degree in Oral Biology which she obtained at Harvard University. Prior to endodontics residency, Dr. Thai completed a general practice residency at Tufts University where she gained extra training in treating both medically complex patients and patients with dental anxiety. Dr. Thai completed her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree at Boston University. She was the recipient of several scholarships including the Boston University Women Graduates’ Club Scholarship and the Boston University Women’s Council Scholarship.
Dr. Thai is excited to be back to serve her community and is intent on providing a painless root canal experience for her patients. When Dr. Thai is not in the office, she enjoys training for marathons and spending time with her friends and family.
Dr. Thai is a member of the American Association of Endodontists, Massachusetts Association of Endodontists, American Dental Association, and the Massachusetts Dental Society.
Shy Ni, DMD
Dr. Shy Ni earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California, Merced, where she was recognized for her dedication to learning and made it onto the dean’s and chancellor’s honors list. She decided to pursue a career in dentistry and obtained her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from the A.T. Still University – Missouri School of Dentistry and Oral Health.
Upon completion of her dental degree, Dr. Ni was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Honor Society and received an award from the American Academy of Periodontology for her accomplishments as a dental student. She went on to specialize in Periodontology and earned a Doctor of Medical Science (DMSc) degree from the Harvard School of Dental Medicine. During her residency at Harvard, she conducted research in the field of periodontology and received recognition for her work, winning awards in both basic science and clinical impact categories at a national research forum competition organized by the American Academy of Periodontology. Upon graduation, Dr. Ni was honored with the Dr. James H. Shaw Award for her leadership, research excellence, and outstanding clinical work.
With a deep-rooted connection to the city of Boston, where she underwent her residency, Dr. Ni made the decision to remain in the state of Massachusetts. She is devoted to serving the community she has grown to cherish during her time in Boston.
