Have you lost a tooth or several teeth but don’t want to wear a denture? Or maybe you already wear dentures and they too easily move around. In cases like this, dental implants may be an appropriate treatment to help you eat, smile, and speak in public with more confidence.
What are Dental Implants?
Dental implants are small, biocompatible posts that are placed in your jaw where the roots of your teeth normally go. One post holds one replacement tooth, such as a dental crown. A few implants can hold a dental bridge or denture. The posts help provide stability and stimulate your jawbone tissue and the flow of nutrients to keep it healthy.
How Does the Treatment Work?
Our periodontist, Dr. Kondrat, can perform the treatment in our office. He will oversee and complete the design and placement of your dental implant. Once the healing process is complete and your jawbone has fused with the post, Dr. Villani will place a dental bridge, crown, or denture over your implant(s). We can perform the whole treatment from start to finish in our office.
